The Jonas Brothers are kicking off their 20th anniversary with a bang.

On Sunday, March 23, thousands of fans gathered at American Dream in New Jersey to celebrate the first JONASCON — a fan event that featured performances, themed-activations, a Jonas Brothers museum, lots of merch and so much more.

“There's going to be a lot of memories revisited today,” Joe, 35, tells PEOPLE at American Dream before the first event of the day.

“I think the biggest thing is probably [to] try not to get too emotional. When we signed up to do this, it was just exciting. We were like, ‘That's crazy. What a wild idea.’ And then you get here and you're walking through — last night we're walking through all the different activations, some of the things that fans have created, some that are our ideas that came to life. The Jonas Museum is probably the one that really got me. Because you are holding these items of clothing and you're having a flashback. I know exactly where we were. It's trippy.”

The day kicked off with a performance by Nick, 32, Joe and Kevin, 37, at ‘Jonas Beach’ — the decked out DreamWorks indoor waterpark — on a stage set up at the end of the park’s massive pool. From there, it was off to the races and the brothers went on to perform five more times that day, in many cases, in shows that were totally free for guests.

Special guests across the day included All American Rejects, who are joining the band on their upcoming JONAS20: Living the Dream Tour, Franklin Jonas, Big Rob, Scheana Shay (who appeared on season 1 of Jonas L.A.), Big Time Rush and cast members from Camp Rock.

The last event of the night was a keynote where between playing some of their biggest hits, the band made several announcements about what fans have in store this year.

First up was the news that Nick, Joe and Kevin will be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame later this year, an announcement made by none other than former New York Giant, Eli Manning. After sharing the exciting news, the brothers were joined onstage by their parents Kevin Sr. and Denise, little brother Franklin Jonas and Kevin and Nick’s wives Danielle Jonas and Priyanka Chopra.

Later, the band was joined by members of their original band, John Taylor and Greg Garbowsky, to play “Still In Love with You” from their 2007 self-titled album.

After releasing their new single “Love Me to Heaven” on March 21, the band also revealed that they have a new album in the works, Greetings from Your Hometown, which is set to drop on Aug. 8, 2025, along with an upcoming live album. They also shared that Joe’s solo album Music for People Who Believe in Love, which was originally set to drop last fall, will be available in May 2025. Earlier in the day, the band told PEOPLE there would also be an album to accompany their Disney+ holiday movie, A Very Jonas Christmas — a title revealed Sunday night.

And speaking of Disney, the guys are going back to their roots with not only the movie, but they will also be the voices behind Disneyland’s 70th anniversary theme song this year and that ESPN’s Sunday night baseball theme song will be “I Can’t Lose” — a soon-to-be released song from the band.

To top off the night, which wrapped up at 10:00 p.m. — more than 12 hours after the guys first arrived at the venue — they teased that JONASCON 2025 would be the first of many and that they might even take it internationally.

And while this year is a big one for the brothers, as they celebrate how far they’ve come as band, they’re clearly very much looking forward to what’s in store.

“We were grateful we were going into our 20-year anniversary and feeling still pretty damn young,” Joe tells PEOPLE. “We have a lot more in us.”
