After an active four-month job search (including 1.5-month of travel), I've come close to securing some exciting opportunities, though the perfect fit remains elusive. I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to former colleagues who have stepped up to support me during this time. Your assistance has been invaluable. This experience has provided valuable insights into my professional network, highlighting those who I can rely on in the spirit of mutual support and those who are not there for me. It's been a reminder of the importance of genuine professional relationships.I'm currently seeking new challenges in product leadership, CTO roles, or tackling complex problems in observability, data, or security. If you know of any opportunities that align with my expertise, I'd be grateful for any connections or recommendations.#OpenToWork #ProductLeadership #TechExecutive #Observability #DataSolutions #Cybersecurity

Alright, I am going to be a bit controversial as I saw a comment that did not resonate with me and makes me wonder how many people hear the same.Read me out for a bit... Cybersecurity IS for everyone, Incident Response IS NOT for everyone. While it means it IS for everyone it does not mean everyone will get in. All those LinkedIn members saying there are too many people in Tech/Cyber/IT(whatever other words they use) are not correct, there is an expected growth, with not enough people. On the other hand, (while I have a monologue here at the expense of lack of engagement), I have seen many people wanting to join cyber just because roles are open, you need to bring critical thinking, analysis, work ethic, interest and drive for companies to want to hire you. Let's have entry level roles and let's have soft skills to broadcast the skills you do have that add value to cyber. Let's come together as Peter Schawacker is already doing by providing feedback on LinkedIn profiles. There are things we can do together... anyway, my little rant, thanks for reading.

I fear that in coming years, the industry is gonna feel a huge brain drain as a result of veteran Cyber leaders dropping the reins of leadership. I have spent the whole of 2023 searching for a new role, an opportunity to put the knowledge acquired from my Master's program and internship programs, yet I continue to work hard to develop my skills and knowledge. I have come across many posts on LinkedIn and Twitter of many young folks who are also seeking opportunities, to no avail. I recently checked on a couple of people I’ve come across through these months only to find that many have dropped their ambitions for cybersecurity roles and just taken up careers at Home Depot retails, lawn care coys, etc. You come across “Entry role opportunities” and after looking at their requirements you’re left with more questions than excitement. How does an Entry experience role require 3/4yrs experience? Is this a mistake or was the Entry role just a caption to beat the algorithm? I’m scared for the future but Ultimately, I’m still hoping to get into the ring & so are many job seekers. My proficiencies: Vulnerability assessments, Risk management, threat hunting, penetration testing, and security analysis.
